Order Picker Forklift Parts - Order preparation operation or order picking as it is more normally known is a process utilized within warehouse operations and comprises workers called order pickers. The order picker's job is to take and collect articles in specific quantities to accomplish the customer's orders prior to shipment. Order picking is an easy warehousing process. The effectiveness in which this task is completed can be directly linked to a supply chain's productivity. Thus, order picking is amongst the most controlled logistic methods. Order picking falls within the category of the warehouse management system.

There are some specific types of order picking. The main types comprise: pick to box method, wave picking method, piece picking or picker to part method, sorting systems method and zone picking method.

The pick to box method consists of the order picker filling the box with the stuff from her or his station. The box then moves to the other picking locations until the customer order is finish. In this particular technique, there is no movement of the order picker employees. In the wave picking method, the order pickers move about to collect the required things for numerous orders. The picker to part method or piece picking is similar where the order pickers or picker move to be able to collect the items required but for one order only.

There is no movement by the order picker in the sorting systems method. Rather, stuff are brought to the orderpicker by an automatic system such as an automatic storage system or a conveyor system. In the zone picking method, each order picker is assigned to one particular zone. They are responsible for only realizing order picking within this specified area.
